Client Situation and Main Objective

British marketing and communications company was entrusted with producing SAP marketing campaigns, particularly informational documents and texts destined to be sent via e-mail. They create texts in design format – mostly InDesign – and often need materials to be translated with a view to the Spanish market.

But client required an additional service above and beyond mere translation: they needed all the material to be laid out in the InDesign format. As the Syntax team is also expert in the field of digital publishing, the entire process was a resounding success.

This renowned multinational in the chemicals sector has numerous branches throughout the regions of EMEA, Asia Pacific and the Americas. They have implemented the SAP system across the board for the overall running of the company, from procurement and planning through to storage and quality management by way of accounting, production and human resources.

The Role of Syntax

Some time back, they contracted a well known SAP consultancy partner to develop documentation and comprehensive training materials, which they wished to distribute to several of the company’s European offices so that employees in the different areas could train themselves. To be successful, the training needed to be concise, enjoyable and easy for the staff to follow on their own. It therefore took the shape of videos in which various characters discussed the use of the program, along with eBooks, dynamic presentations and other modern materials. Syntax was the company chosen to translate these materials into French, English and Spanish. And ever since then, Syntax has built a solid and highly satisfactory business relationship with the client.

Leading multinational in the intralogistics sector developed SAP add-ons to cover their in-house financial and logistical management requirements. This also included the translation of in-house data tables. Functionality is periodically updated, as are new entries in the various tables. These add-ons were developed in German, the language of the parent company, but the company’s office in Spain naturally required them in Spanish.
